The links to the surrounding landscape were fundamental to the design. This philosophy is embedded in their Forest School Programme, and aims to encourage a love for the environment while developing skills and knowledge

Innovative sustainable construction techniques are at the heart of this structure -  straw bales in conjunction with SIP panels to the walls and roof are formed around a central timber glulam frame. The buildings walls and roof are clad in cedar. Materials were used that have A+ or A ratings under the BRE’s Green Guide. F.S.C timber was used for the development and insulation materials have a GWP of 5 or less.
